Rachel is a consultant with over 20 years’ experience of working with leaders and teams in a wide range of corporate industries and the charity sector. She loves to help leaders and stakeholders create clarity about their strategic goals, providing advice on a blend of effective interventions based on organisational research and analytics.

Rachel is known for her wisdom, insight, and her passion to understand the root of issues her clients are dealing with, while taking a pragmatic approach to resolving issues.  Rachel seeks to understand how the spiritual, scientific and academic worlds meet and integrate to provide approaches that engage clients at all levels and tackle pressing business challenges.

Background

Rachel has a strong private sector background. Her early career included internal roles for well-known names such as Thomas Cook, American Express, Whitbread and Daimler Chrysler. She then took up a consultancy position with Roffey Park where she worked with clients from across the sectors for four years. In 2011 she co-founded Wandsworth Foodbank, a five-centre operation, where her expertise in recruitment, people and organisational development ensured it was established on firm foundations. Over the last five years, it has grown its provision fivefold and was able to provide nearly 6000 three-day emergency food supplies in 2018-19.

Experience and expertise

Rachel is a skilled OD and people development professional with strong project management skills. A creative and diplomatic problem solver, she is known for her ability to work with senior managers and other stakeholders to diagnose root issues, using a variety of research methods to help her clients identify key strategic goals and construct detailed plans. She is then able to provide ongoing support to execute those plans, reviewing and refreshing them based on risk assessment and emergent information.

Rachel's strongly empathetic style means she is able to develop a deep understanding of the needs of leaders, their teams and their context. This leads to long-lasting relationships with her clients, able to go the distance to help ensure their goals are achieved. She is skilled at helping her clients articulate their strategic visions and identify what it will take to see them realised. Her clients have included household names such as Rolls Royce, English Heritage, Equity Insurance Group and the Church of England.

Alongside her consultancy work, she also holds the position of Chief Development Officer for Horizon Mind, a specialist provider of digital tools to enhance organisational performance.
