Shelly Hossain

Consultant member

Shelly is an Organisational Development consultant and educator with a global reach and reputation. She has spent over 25 years supporting organisations in leadership and change work. She is a part-time academic and is a founding member and Board member of Organisation Development Network (ODN) Europe and NTL.  Shelly is also an Associate with leading development specialists who operate internationally. Her work includes running Masters and Certificate level programmes in Organisation Development, supporting senior leaders and providing consultancy interventions.

 

Shelly has a passion for social justice and has led on a number of award-winning positive action programmes. This includes leading the largest Positive Action Programme in the history of the UK Civil Service.

Background

​Shelly trained originally as a Town Planner and worked within local government for 15 years. She now specialises in Leadership Development, Change Management, Organisational Development and Personal Effectiveness. Shelly has operated at senior levels and internationally for corporate global organisations since 1997.  Her work has involved designing and delivering local, national and international leadership programmes for private, public and charity sectors. Her work includes running Masters level programmes, coaching senior leaders and providing consultancy interventions. Shelly is active in bringing an OD mindset to organisations and raising the value of OD work in the UK and abroad. She holds the values of deep humanistic learning to enhance adult learning and growth.
 

Experience and expertise

Shelly works with the Strategic /Top Teams focusing on individual, team and organisation wide development, supporting and guiding top teams on change projects and working with organisations on broader issues such as Creating a World Class organisation and International Leadership. She is able to work with all levels of the system including large groups to create inclusive, system wide dialogue and innovation. She brings a strong academic grounding and experience base to her work. All her work has a strong thread of Diversity and Inclusion. This recognises the global marketplace that organisations operate in today as well as societal demographics and cultural dynamics in an organisation. She is experienced in working with international/multicultural teams, having delivered from Mexico City to Seoul.
 

​Current Projects include:

  • Programme lead for UK Civil Service Positive Action Pathway

  • Lead faculty member for BP for their global Diversity and Inclusion programme

  • Design and Delivery of accredited Organisation Development programmes to UK and Singapore Civil Service

  • Organisational development projects / intervention in the NHS

  • Set advisor on the MSc in ‘People and Organisational Development’ at Roffey Park. This MSc is based on self-managed learning principles using learning sets as a core component

  • Psychometrics including FIRO B, TLQ, HPI and MBTI.

  • NTL Global OD Certificate

 

A bit more about Shelly...

Shelly lives in SW England with her family. She enjoys reading, gardening, buying plants and listening to music.

She holds an internationalist perspective to her work and life and enjoys meeting people from other cultures.
